Tammi Lawson

Tammi Lawson is the Curator of the Art and Artifacts Division at The New York Public Library's Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture. She oversees a collection of 15,000 fine art pieces and artifacts that showcase the history and culture of the African Diaspora, including the largest public collection of Augusta Savage's artwork. Lawson guides researchers and has collaborated on various exhibitions and publications, including "Augusta Savage, the Shape of a Sculptor's Life." She was honored with the 2021 Bertha Franklin Feder Award for Librarianship and holds an MLS degree from Queens College, CUNY.
